Remember when you heard Corona and you were envisioning yourself on the beach somewhere warm with a cold beverage? Ahhh, the good old days. Throughout this whole thing I have come up with some #silverlinings. Some are funny, some are helpful, some are true, and some are funny because they are true. Here are the ones that have resonated with me over the course of the dreaded “C” word. When you can’t beat em, join em.
1. Thanksgivings across America are being canceled or downsized or look different this year which definitely makes me a bit sad….#silverlining – you don’t have to sleep on an air mattress in your in-laws basement and hear every creek and noise above from all those late night potty runs.
2. I am one of the fortunate ones who enjoys their workplace environment so working from home definitely has its challenges….#silverlining – Amazon has a “Work from home” playlist. Who would have thought? Who doesn’t love a little 9 to 5 and Manic Monday?
3. So, there is that parent that just will not end the parent teacher conference. As many friendly reminders from the principal popping their head in the door, they just will not leave…#silverlining – Zoom parent teacher conferences. The “LEAVE” button is a fabulous way to say, “looks like someone is in the waiting room”.
4. You have an 8:00 meeting in the city, better leave at 6:30 to get there in time. But wait, everyone is WFH…..#silverlining – NO TRAFFIC! Who’s gonna miss cruising along at 70 MPH and then coming to a complete stop because someone has a flat tire 3 miles up the road, NOT ME.
5. So I have lots of boys and any of you who have multiple children, let along competitive boys, you know how much they DON’T get along……#silverlining – they don’t have anyone else to play with so they are forced to get creative and take on a trick shot Tuesday challenge. #STEM #trickshottuesday
This too shall pass but, in the meantime, why not laugh at what you can and take advantage of #silverlinings.
